I found this really cool blog called Scrap Faith, from an old friend of mine, Heidi, and they had a great challenge that I had to take advantage of:
The challenge is to scrap spiritual rebellion (or lack there-of). Whether you went back to your roots or made your own spiritual rules, just document your personal journey through question what YOU believed.
So here is my LO title from (there)... to {here}.
The journaling reads:"I was rebellious, I was stubborn, I'm one of those who had to learn the lesson all on my own, even if the answers are right in from of me. I finally had to decide for myself, what I was going to believe in. I know what I had been taught, I knew what was right, but I had to believe for me. When I went away to school, I gained my own testimony, I believed it soo much so, that I went onto serve a mission for church. I had to find out for myself, and I did."

Card Swap Night here....

Well tonight card swap was at my house- which is a great excuse to kick my butt into gear and clean my house, get some yummy snacks... Chili's chips and salsa is the BEST... and hang out and visit with neighbors and friends. Thanks to those who came out, here is a pic of the cards I made and I tried a new technique which was kinda fun- vellum pleats with sewing and then the bottom is the make and take card they we each made. I came away with some super adorable cards tonight also:)

Austin is Sick Now

Poor little buddy, first me, then Jeremy.... NOW Austin woke this morning with a fever after coming home from school totally wiped out yesturday. This morning he woke up and said " I had a busy night, and it was sooooo long." I asked him what he happened, and he said, "well I got up a couple times, had to get a drink, had to redo my blankets a couple times, and then had some dreams... I had a long busy night..." I couldn't help but smile, it was sooo cute, esp in his snuffey nose voice.

Field Trip with Sydney's Preschool Class

Today was Sydney's preschool field trip, which I got the privilege to go on with her. Looking at these photos I can help but notice how long her hair is and of course in the last one, how tall she is... where'd that come from?? (Jeremy???) Well they went to Cabella's which is just about 5 minutes away, and they toured all the animals, the fish tanks, and even got some tokens to go shooting (the things they teach kids in Utah) - which Sydney had a blast doing, and loved!!! She even hit a couple targets. She had fun and Mckay (her b-friend) held her hand most of the time too, even though she is a full head taller then him (blonde boy in photo). But it was tons of fun watching her have sooo much fun.

Happy Easter.... a bit late

well these are a bit late, but hey better late than never. We were kinda having some technical difficulties getting the just right photo, esp of everyone...Kids weren't really wanting to sit, the sun was in their eyes and blah blah blah... so here are some of the best ones we got. Austin and Sydney are decked out in their new Easter clothes. Austin was incredibly happy to get a new and first ever white shirt and tie. Sydney of course just loves wearing dresses and loves whatever she wears. Katelin also stayed the night so the Easter bunny managed to come and visit all of us...

Today is Green Day

Well in honor of Green St Patty's Day, yes I will be wearing green too. Thought I would add my green pages. The bottom one is of my fave color Green and all my fun green things, I think my fave is the sage green accent wall and entryway when you first come into the house. Love that color... it always makes me feel so peaceful.
The next page is from my challenge at the Scrapattack crop, do a page about why "YOU" are lucky and journal at least 35 words or more on it, so here is my journaling:

Lucky 2 Be {Me}:
so lucky to be married to a wonderful man,
so lucky for a wonderful, helpful & handsome son,
so lucky for a beautiful, sweet & precious girl,
so lucky to live in a gorgeous house,
so lucky to have health and strength,
so lucky to have faith in God & His Son,
so lucky to have a creative passion,
so lucky to be independent,
so lucky to have been blessed many times over,
so lucky 2 be me............... 3/2008

New Layouts from the Weekend

Got a little time to scrap this weekend and got a couple of challenges done.
The first one of Austin & Bailey was to use stamps on a page, I went overboard and used 8 different stamps.
The second page is a scraplift challenge, so I borrowed this idea for my page.
The last one was to use holiday theme paper but do a regular photo and page, the papers I used were last years Paper Salon Dazzle from their Christmas collection.

Spring Forward.....

Well with the whole time adjustment, today was a beautiful day with lots of signs of spring on it's way, and all I can say is that I am MORE than ready for warm weather, t shirts, flip flops and Capri's- BRING on the sun- please!!! We still have a small area of snow that hasn't melted yet in the front yard, and I am more than ready for the snow to go. After church today, we went out for a bit in the backyard, and I realized how much I missed just sitting out side in the sun, warm and relaxed. I even only had on flips flops and a tshirt, soooo nice. The kids played in the backyard, blowing bubbles, kicking around the soccer ball, and even built a birds nest- for which birds, I'm not really sure, but it was cute, esp the thoughtfulness that would want a ground nest on the side of the house...
Thought I would include some pictures that are a promise that spring is on its way.

Austin & Sydney's clover plants ($1 section at Target)
Finally got to bring out my flip flops today:
Austin kicking around the soccer ball:
Sydney playing soccer too, she is a great dribbler:
Bulbs sprouting up in the backyard, we have a TON on the verge of coming up, I planted them all the first fall we moved here, I'm always surprised they keep coming up:

Total Distress Challenge Layout

Well I took my own challenge and did it- on ScrapAttack Scrapbooking's blog and here is my finished project. (This one is for you Kim) of some cute photos of my newest nephew- Brody. I inked a ton, crumpled the flowers and inked them, tore my paper on the long brown, and then sanded my photos for the vintage kind of feel, just love how these papers really felt vintage-ey too and make it all come together. Had fun with my own challenge...LOL

Austin's Dr. Seuss Reading Program

Last night at Austin's school they had a Dr Seuss reading program that all the 1st graders were in. You notice the Cat in the Hat like hats and red bows that they wore for their costumes. They also got to wear pjs too, which was super cute. The cafe was packed for the program but we got a pretty good seat. The program was only about 20 minutes, but Austin was soooo excited to perform, they sang several songs about different word rules and learning the fun of reading. Austin's reading has really improved this year and he looks forward to his take home books everyday. So do I, I love spending time with him reading, and hope he stays excited about it, just like I am.

**DREAM STREE RUE**

Got this super cute BROWN PPs from the new Dream Street Rue line for my DT projects to start working with from the Scrap Attack Store and thought they would work perfect with the sepia photo of Syd... Also used the ribbon pleat technique on the ribbon on the side of the page and then sewed down the ribbon to really add some dimension and texture on the page. This is Syd when she was 6 months and I remember it like yesturday, I loved putting those ponytails in her hair and she actually kept them in, she was such a good baby....

Upclose photo of the ribbon pleats....
