Happy Leap Year!!!!

I know this day only comes around once every four years, so this year we have the extra day to make it 366 days a year. Of course today would be the year I decide to do project 365.. lol..
So today I:
went to lunch with new friends
I ate pretty healthy and had the BEST salad for lunch
cuddled with my baby
got a lil bit of exercise in, it's coming slowly but surely with this recovery from having the baby
Sydney had softball practice and Austin had a baseball game (at the same time)
it's looking like the kids will get in bed early and hubby and I can have a minute or two alone
attempted to go to Disneyland's open till 6 am, but wow that was total insanity!!! so we just got some McDonalds hot cocoa and walked around Downtown Disney and got home at 4 am!!!!

There's a Light that Never Goes Out

ok one of my ALL time fave songs is There's a Light that Never Goes Out by The Smiths... it's one of those I could listen to again, and again, and again, and never be sick of it. The challenge for My Scraps & More last AI challenge was to use a song from a movie soundtrack as your title, use some lyrics as journaling and use some of the song for inspiration on your page. Since this song was from the 500 days of summer soundtrack, I grabbed it and used it, added a few of the lyrics, and the sunshine represents light.. and I used some SUPER cute Sassafras on the page also. I used the 2.17 Boys Rule Sketch for the page also.

I embellished my stickers with some bling on the page also:
The happy sun represents light, and also mixed my alphas and added a fun banner or two:

Day 363: super sketchy sunday

Well the year is coming to an end at 365 Cards challenge blog, so here is the last card sketch to play along with... I'm sooo excited to say I've been on the team for over a year and have LOVED working with Pam's sketches!! This one is no different, it's super fun to use, so I hope you play along with it. Erin has a fun RAK up for grabs for a lucky winner this week.

Here is my take on the sketch, I used a mix of pinks and reds for this card. I must still be in Valentine's mode.

Sketches in Thyme: Open Challenge

this week at Sketches in Thyme it's all about Open challenge... that's right pick up a sketch from anywhere, play along and link it up!!!! I used an October Afternoon sketch that I couldn't resist. I was mainly drawn to the kinda cool grid design on the sketch, and then played around with it a bit. I used Echo Park's A Boys Life papers for this layout.

Child's Play Challenge: Crayons

Free. To me this is totally what the photo of Sydney says to me. That time when you are a child and you just feel FREE. free from cares, free from the world, and free from problems. Something that as an adult, you don't really feel much because there is sooooo much to worry about. I used the Elle's Studio 2.16 sketch for my page and their Feb kit, which is SUPER fun to play with...

Depeche Mode.

ahhhh If I have a fave band of all time, I would choose this one.. They were one of my first alternative bands that I got into, back in 7th grade.. yes I have been listening to them for a looooong time, still love them. One thing, Depeche Mode is amazing in concert, every time I see them. For the last time we saw them, we were in row 11 center... wow.. the seats could NOT have been any better!!! I love them, and can't wait for some new stuff and a new tour. Here are some older photos (Aug 08) from the last concert. I played along with Scrapjacked's latest challenge/jack for my inspiration. Also the challenge at My Scraps& More's mini AI challenge, scrap a music event. Well, this is one for me that totally counts.

I added some red and charcoal colored misting. I also mixed the alphas and used Authentique's Celebrate's line for this page too.

Boy Wonder.

Boy Wonder.. that's my Austin.. I used Echo Park's A Boy's Life line for this page. I've totally diggin it, and love the chevron prints on it, it's one of my FAVES... this was for Lisa's challenge at My Scraps & More for the American Idol contest going on right now..

Sketches in Thyme #70

A cool new double page sketch is up and posted at Sketches in Thyme to play along with.. I am super excited to be getting more of these done and tackling some 2 pagers... I used some older Crate for this layout with some photos from a fun little photo session I did with Chorley in Jan. I look at these photos now and realize how much she has grown in just over a month.. wow!!! time goes waaaay too quickly.

ScrapFIT workout #62 XOXO

One of my favorite saying from Gossip Girl, the tv show, is when she says "XOXO"... so I totally LOVED this new challenge workout to play along with at the ScrapFIT challenge blog. The challenge:
February is the month of love and every love note should be signed with XOXO so on this Workout we want to see some love by putting some 'X's and 'O's on it! They can be big, small, glittery or grungy, any way you want to show us some love!

I cut out my title of XO from the paper itself. I used an older line from Teresa Collins that was perfect for this challenge!!! I mean perfect!!!
I added lots of distressing, some stitching and embellies to match:

Love Bug and Big Fun

My Lobe Bug... I created this page with the Elle's Studio 2.9 sketch. I flipped it and created this page with it. I used a few things from the Feb Elle's kit, that I am lovin right now and can't get enough of. The photo is of Chorley, my sweet lil lovebug, and I LOVE the fun headband that she is wearing, even though Jeremy keeps taking it off of her and says she doesn't need it. what eve.. lol... I also played along with Tammi's Valentine's Day color challenge: pinks and reds at My Scraps & More.
Here is some of my banner, I cut out some banner pieces and used some Elle's Studio's products, and finished it off with some twine and buttons:

Here is another page I created with the same sketch using Echo Park's A Boys Life collection for the page. It was perfect for Pine Wood Derby photos, esp with the car paper and embellies. I also played along to My Scraps and More American Idol mini challenge for week #2.
