Happy Halloween!!!!!

I just couldn't not post about Halloween and miss out today....

Here is a photo of the kids all dressed up on Friday at the church Halloween party. In an hour or so, they will look just like this and out on the streets trick or treating.. Sydney is Sally from Nightmare Before Christmas, Austin is a hippie, and Chorley a cute lil ladybug.

I used Echo Park's Chillingworth Manor... I like I pretty much used up that whole line.
I added some fun embellies and bling:
and a bit of white mist to add some pop in the back, plus a close up of the kids:
I created this layout towards the For The Luv Of Art Halloween Challenge...
I used the 10.26 Boys Rule Sketch
Played along with the My Scraps & More daily challenge to use bling scattered on the page.
and lastly, Twisted Tuesday, anything goes.

Hope you and your ghouls have a VERY Happy and Safe Halloween!!!!!!

Too Tired 2 Smile

I'm up over on the My Scraps & More blog today....

If you didn't get a chance to be apart of the Trick or Treat Crop at the My Scraps forum, all I can say is that you really missed out!!! One of the coolest parts of the crop, was the two fast scrap sketches. What is a fast scrap sketch? A sketch is presented in a thread, and you have ONE hour to get your layout completed and then have a few minutes to get it uploaded into the gallery and the challenge thread.

I got to play along to the second night of the Fast Scrap Sketch challenge and had a blast.. By the end, your fingers are shaking and your heart is pounding!! It's sooo much fun!!!

Here is my layout that I completed:
The photos were taken at my sisters wedding, and it was late into the afternoon and my daughter was about done with pictures... LOL
I used some of Crate's On Trend collection, that you can find in the My Scraps store HERE. The flower paper is perfect to fussy cut.
I also used some of the border stickers across the page. I LOVE those things!!!

Make sure to see what is going on at our next crop, you won't want to miss out!!!!!

Have a wonderful day, and stay safe to all those on the East Coast!!!!

Sketches in Thyme #91

This week it's a new 2 pager from Tiffany to play along with over at Sketches in Thyme. I am looking forward more and more each month to the 2 pagers, and reserve certain photos just for my 2 page layouts now.

Here's sketch #91:
And here is my take on the sketch:
Here's my left page:
and the right page:
While we were walking down main street in Cayucos they had these fun pirate/sailing statues to take pictures with, so we each took a turn.
Hope you play along and can't to see what you do.....

Clue.

The Child's Play challenge blog, has one super cool challenge posted to play along with, check out the inspiration photo this week:

CLUE!!!! I just LOVED that game growing up!! I remember playing it with my sisters many hours. We also couldn't wait to see who do it, in what room, and with what weapon. I even remember the pretty cheesey Clue movie that came out years ago, and I had to see it.

Here is my take on the inspiration:
I used the black outline, and a grid paper for my main focus, and also used the word clue in my title.

Chorley loves to give kisses, and it is such the cutest thing:
Here's where I used the word CLUE for my title.. "you have no CLUE how much I Love U"
I also fussy cut out some hexes and pop dotted them:
How will you use the photo for your page???
Happy Thursday!!!

Halloween Altered Project

Good Morning..
I am soooo excited to share that I made the Original Scrapbook USA Expo DT team!!!! I am SUPER excited for this, since it's the expo in Utah, that I have gone to for years!!!

I am a HUGE fan of Halloween, and it is our family's favorite holiday here at the house. We love to go to the pumpkin patch, corn mazes, dress up, and trick or treat. I also LOVE to decorate and make the house fun and spooky.

I decided to make a fun altered Halloween project, that would be perfect as a centerpiece on the table, up on the mantle or almost anywhere in the house. Another idea, would be to fill it with candy and give it to someone special.

For this project I used the DCWV Halloween & Fall stack, DCWV Halloween embellishment flip pack.
All I did was take a plastic box and then cover it with the spider web paper and fussy cut out the 31, the pumpkin and the Trick or Treat from various papers.
Next I made accordion "flowers" and circle punched out papers and distressed the edges. To make sure they stayed I hot glue-gunned them to a cardboard backing. You can cover it with paper so it matches. Then I rolled paper and made "stems" to hold the flowers to.
And your done.

Here are a couple of cards that I got done for the blog the other day also:
I just LOVED this tree and fussy cut it out:
Then I went with totally non traditional colors for this next card:
I am sooo in Halloween mode can you tell?????
Have a good one.. Happy Hump day!!!

Halloween Countdown Project

Hello everyone.. I'm up on the Practical Scrappers blog today with this project....

It's not secret that one of my FAVORITE holidays is Halloween.. I probably count down the days just as much as my kids do. I enjoy everything about the holiday- from dressing up, pumpkin patches, being scared, and taking the kids trick or treating. So I thought it would be perfect to have a Halloween countdown sign in our house.

Here is my finished project:
For my base, I wanted to use something sturdy, so I used just a priority shipping mailbox and cut it down to a 9x9 base:
Next I started mounting my papers onto the board. I used several layers to add lots of fun colors and patterns:
Then I started adding embellishments to decorate it. Next I added the countdown numbers. A quick easy way to do this is use post it notes:
And finally, I just added some ribbon to hang it up with:
Now all we have to do is tear off each day and before you know it, it will be Halloween!!!!

(Remember this can be made for ANY holiday, birthday or special event).

Thanks sooo much for joining us today and letting me share my countdown project with you.

Also linking up with the Halloween Link Party at Polish the Stars.

Happy Halloween!!!!

MudHen Bars

I was super excited when I saw this recipe posted on pinterest I was soooo excited... it was yummy looking. I had to wait a week or so to try it, since I was out of mini marshmellows, but once I got them from the store, I was ready to go.

Talk about AMAZING!!!!! these bars were sooo good, AND it made a 9x13 pan of it. So perfect for hosting and you have company over, or perfect for when you are feeling like you need a dessert. They are both sweet and rich, which is the perfect combo, cuz hubby likes the sweet, I like the rich.

Here's the pinterest version:
Here is the MudHen Bar source.

Here's what the pan looked like coming out of the oven, the top layer forms a crust and inside is gooey delicious:

Here's a close up of the yumminess:
And all served up ready to eat:
Everyone LOVED them in the house, and we had them warm from the oven!!! And the second night, they tasted just as good.

**just make sure when you are making the recipe to save the egg whites from the top half of the recipe when you are making the base, and don't throw it away like I did, because you will need it for the top layer.

I'm linking up to Pinspiration Project #12

Try them out.. I'll tell ya, they are good!!!!!

Turtle Talk... Bubble Phrases

Today I am soooo excited to share a layout that I made for a Practical Scrappers blog post... It was just one of those SUPER fun pages that you make and have fun making it...

The challenge from the Practical Scrappers blog.. Cards and Layouts with Bubble Phrases... Bubble Phrases have made quite a comeback lately and they are SUPER fun.

This photo was taken at the zoo in one of those photo opt places. I couldn't resist this photo of the kids. At first, I was like, oh they aren't even looking, maybe I'll delete it, but I printed it out anyways and it made for a fun bubble phrase page:

Here's what the phrases say, Sydney to Austin
Austin to Sydney
And some fun details on the page:
how cool are bubble phrases???? are you using them?

Cousins

Hello people.. it's Monday so I am slllooooow moving today..

I took this photo of my son and his buddy cousin at my lil sister's wedding, and am soooo stunned at how grown up these two are looking.. and probably in the next couple of years, they will both be taller than me too!! ACK!!! they are only 8 months apart, but quite the buddies.

I added a fussy cut flower from the Crate paper, and it was the perfect color match to the wedding colors:
I used the October Scrapbook Circle kit, and then added a splash of pink from MME's Sweetest Thing line..
check out those handsome boys:
I used the Oct 12 Boys Rule sketch for my page
And the 10/11 My Scraps Daily challenge, to fussy cut something on your page.

Hope you make it through your Monday!!!
