Finally got some Christmas pictures actually scrapped within a month of Christmas.. usually it's the following year they get scrapped!!! LOL... I used the October Afternoon Holiday Style line... one of my FAVES this year.. love the colors... I also played along with ScrapFit's #23 Weekend Warm up challenge, to use kraft as a background.. easy peasy for me, I LOVE kraft paper.. in fact, my stash is running low and I need more!! ACK!!

This is one color challenge that I couldn't resist... It's the EAD Jan Color Challenge... these are probably one of my fave color challenges that I started out scrapbooking years about, and is still a fave color combo today of mine. I also used the City Crafter challenge sketch for this card too. So here is what I came up with.

I finally got quite a few pics of Chorley printed and I am sooo excited to finally get the chance to actually scrap them!!! Here are a few from one of my fave photo shoots so far, all the light was natural, I love how much natural light the house gets here. I used the Elle's Studio sketch to play along with and added a few of her goodies on the page too.

It's my first week playing along with a new challenge blog called Inspired By... this is for challenge # 7... It's a super fun inspiration... I choose the blues out of the pictures, pulled some yellow from the flowers and then added a few flowers to the card itself. Also I added some pearls which seem perfect for dressing up, just like in a wedding....

A New Day Brings A New Wave...

When we went to Hermosa Beach over Thanksgiving break, this was one of my FAVE pictures that we took. Jeremy and the kids went down and couldn't resist putting their toes in the water for a cool dip, and I caught this shot from up on the pier... I used the MME blog challenge #31, the sketch and the word "New" for the theme... I mainly used the Breaking Free line while a few embellies from the Fine and Dandy line...

Recently we went to El Paso for dinner, can I say I am soooo glad to be back by this yummy restaurant, so Jeremy and I took a pic. I love that we take more pics of us together. I used the My Scraps & More Friday the 13ths sketch for the page. I also used some yummy Echo Park Yours Truly line.

Today the new 2 page sketch is posted at Sketches in Thyme. It's a great one to get LOTS of fun photos on it and not look cluttered at all. I got photos of us all holding Chorley and a few of her still in the hospital. I used Jillibean's Hearty Barley Soup for this layout. Even though it's a Valentine's line, it's perfect for girl pages too...

I am soooo sad that Sketchy Thursday is closing.. They have been one of my FAVE go to sketch sites to play along with for a loooong time. I had to play along with the last sketch, the 1.12 sketch. I just ordered some fun Elle's Studios products and couldn't resist the fun sketch they posted on 1/12 to play along with. I LOVE their fun journaling spots and date spots. I used Echo Park's Happy Days for a silly picture of the kids from Thanksgiving at Hermosa Beach.

Funny I didn't scrap ANYTHING Christmas related in the whole month of December, so I guess I'm kinda making up for it now. I can always never resist to get a couple of Christmas lines, I know they will go to good use sooner of later. I used some Echo Park Season's Greetings for this page of Chorley. I also used the 1/1 My Scraps & More sketch for the layout. I just loved doing this Christmas photo session with Chorley.. it was too fun.

Here is a page I created for the Bella Blvd 1/6 sketch. I used several lines and mixed and matched them together to create this page. All the photos are from Thanksgiving weekend when my lil sis, and other sister came down with her family to visit for the holiday. Of course in Cali, there's lots of sun, and it's warm and warm enough to hit the beach. Hermosa Beach is always the best too.

ScrapFIT workout # 60 The Simple Things

I LOVED this new challenge that was up and posted for ScrapFIT's workout #60.... the challenge: "Sometimes it’s the simple things in life that mean the most! Show us what simple little thing means so very much to you! Is it a picture your child drew, a family heirloom, a special recipe, a book, - We are dying to know!"

I scrapped a photo of my original teddy bear.. "Jo Jo Bear" that now my daughter has on her bed and says she hopes to pass down to her daughter too.
I used Echo Park's For the Record which was perfect for that homey vintage kind of feel for the page:
Yup, that's my teddy bear. It's gone with me every time I've moved and still in pretty good condition.

Sketches In Thyme #66

One thing I wanted to do with my pregnancy was take lots of belly photos. This is one thing I didn't do enough for child #1 and #2. It wasn't the thing to do back then, and I totally regretting not having many photos to show the kids of my pregnant tummy. So this time I made sure to take lots of pictures. These were taken when I was about 28 weeks, and looking back my tummy did look pretty small. I used the Sketches in Thyme #68 sketch for this week and some Jillibean Hearty Barley Soup... LOVE it!!!

I couldn't resist scrapping another photo of Chorley, so here is one more, and there might be one more tomorrow too (lol) I used sketch # 65 from Sketches in Thyme, I couldn't resist this one. And then I also played along with the Paper Variety challenge to scrap a page in Black and White and one Color- I choose Red, since it makes the photo kinda pop... I used three lines from Echo Park: Dots and Stripes- Metroplitan, For the Record and Season Greetings. I added lots of flowers, chipboard embellies, bling and an ornament since it's a Christmas related photo.

I finally got to scrap something today!!! in fact, I got several things done. So I'm hoping if tomorrow is as good as today, maybe I'll get something else done too. I scrapped some photos of Chorley today, from our lil Christmas photo shoot that we had with her. I have to say I love how the photos turned out, she is quite cute, if I do say so myself. I used the 1.5 Sketchy Thursday sketch for this layout out. I used Echo Park's Seasons Greetings line also.

2011: Fave Layouts January to June

January Layout: This was my fave because I used my word for 2011: FOCUS... and I think I pretty much stuck to that word for the whole year, even with all the major changes that went on.

February Layout: I just LOVED all the textures from this page
February Layout: I had these photos of our family at Knotts Berry Farm, all the way back from 2007 in a key chain, which finally broke. So I took the photos and finally scrapped them. They are one of my faves of the family.
March Layout: this is a mix of two of my fave lines from this past year, Echo Park For the Record and Crate Portrait. Plus family photos from our Christmas photo shoot.
March Layout: just a fun page with some fun photos of our family.
April Layout: These photos of Austin from Foam Day just make me smile. He has a BLAST with the foam and couldn't get enough of it.
May Layout: Love this picture of Sydney and me taken at Rocketship Park... Plus I love anything damask, these colors, and how it pops on the black.
May Layout: Just a fun, super girlie page...
June Layout: These photos of the kids are some of my all time favorites, mostly because they were just themselves, acting silly and I was using my brand new Rebel camera at the time.
June Layout: a layout of me and Jeremy, the photos were from New Years Eve, and 2011 was such a great year for us. Plus the colors are happy, bright, and fun.

July Layout- These are some of my fave pics of Austin and the colors are perfect boy page colors.
August Layout- Sydney at her silliness best!!!! plan a good banner, clouds, and butterflies always make me happy
July layout: This page of Sydney, I love the photo, but all the fun girliness of the page going on too.
September layout: a bitter sweet move, but I am a HUGE fan of the AC Amy Tangerine line, and can't seem to get enough of it

October Layout: Jeremy and I rarely get photos of just the two of us, but I'm trying to make that change. Plus any challenge that included a Depeche Mode song, definitely makes it a FAVE layout in my book.
November Layout: the photos of the kids with Lily are just too dang cute, and I have LOVED this October Afternoon Farmhouse line too.
October Layout: This month I probably got the most layouts done with for this year, I was super busy. Plus this page uses my favorite colors, a photo of the beach, the kids, and distressing- my fave things...
November Layout: these photos of the kids just make me smile. We are a pretty silly family, we love to laugh, and I'm glad to catch it on film.
December Layout: a TON of photos on one page and a great day that our family spent at the beach together, after Thanksgiving...

YEAH!!!! and welcome to 2012!!! I can't believe that one year has ended and a new one is starting. Seems like 2011 went by really quickly, but was a good year for us.

Well Pam has a wonderful new sketch to kick off your scrappy New Year and get started on some cards for day 307 at 365 Cards Challenge Blog. I couldn't resist and did a holiday card using the Echo Park Happy Days line for this one.

I love 80’s music and we are working out with Pat Benatar this week! Her song ‘Love Is A Battlefiled ‘ is your inspiration for this workout! I cant wait to see how this makes you move! I used some of the lyrics for my page. I found some engagement photos of me and my hubby!!!! We are talking about a photo from back in the day... like taken in September 1998.. wow... that is from awhile ago, we both looked soooo YOUNG, both getting ready to embark on the long journey of marriage, but a good one that I wouldn't trade the world for... I used some older Cosmo Cricket Circa 1934 for this page.
I added the song lyrics for my journaling:

Altered Baby Headband

The other night, I had Chorley all dressed up and thought she just needed something girlie to go with her outfit.. so I thought.. hmmm I'll just make her a flower headband...

Here is the upclose of the layered flower. I used the large cream one on the bottom, a red poinsettia in the middle, then a crocheted cream flower on top, with a brad going through the center to hold it together:
Then I added some lace trim for the headband and sewed it together:
And here she is:
I can't wait to make more scrappy projects for Chorley to wear....

Sketches In Thyme # 63 sketch

Well it's my first week as the MAVEN, over at Sketches in Thyme and here is my take on the latest sketch for Sketch # 63.... check out how fun this sketch it... I LOVE the star...
Here is the sketch:
I used the Bella Blvd Boys line for this page... I'm always on the lookout for great boys paper... The photos are of Austin and his cousins on their recent trip here for Thanksgiving. It's hard because we used to live just 10 minutes from our cousins, for 7 years. Now they live about 4 hours, and the kids just LOVE their time together, but get soooo sad when it's time to leave. Makes me remember how it was when my cousins would come visit, that lived 4 hours away.

This week ScrapFIT's workout is sooo much fun...

Workout #58- Mini Pics

It seems when something is smaller than normal size it makes it better or cuter! For this Workout you will need to work with Mini Pictures! They need to be wallet size or smaller – you can have any many or as few as you would like.

I used some photo strips from my prints order. It's a great way to put a TON of photos from an activity in one place on one page... Our family went to Hermosa Beach over Thanksgiving, the weather was perfect, the sun was shining and it was a gorgeous day!!! how could I not take a TON of photos!!! So here I was able to get them all on one page!!!

I highlighted a few of my favorite photos but outlining them with my sharpie:

Day 286: Super Sketchy Sunday

Well I can't believe it's already Sunday and a whole new week!!!! This past week, flew by and we had an unexpected and wonderful blessing come into our lives. I was actually scheduled to have our baby on the 15th, and my due date wasn't until the 22nd... but this lil one wasn't waiting around, so she arrived on Dec 7... that's right, early!!! So this week has been VERY busy and exciting for our family.

Day 279: Super Sketchy Sunday

Pam just posted a GREAT new sketch to start your Sunday off right for Day 279 at 365 Cards challenge blog!!! You'll have to check it out and play along.

Here's my take on the sketch, I used Crate's Toy Box line and made a masculine birthday card. This one was made specially for my dad, who just had his birthday this week, which meant there was angel food cake involved so I was a VERY happy camper too.
I did layers of tearing at the top of the card:
Popped on some stars, bling, and blue alphas for the sentiment:

December 25 Card

I am always up and LOVE LOVE the challenge of making a non traditional color Christmas card. I always enjoy using pinks, lime greens, aqua, etc.. There's just something kinda fun about not using the typical red and greens that everyone uses. So I jumped on Paige's challenge at the Create blog to use non traditional colors for a Christmas card. I used pinks, purple and some aqua.
I also placed on ornament on the card to play along with the Paper Variety blog's challenge: use an ornament on your paper project. I used bling on mine
I evened used a not totally typical sentiment on the card too.. guess I'm kinda feeling rebellious.. LOL :)

WOW!!!! where did 2011 go? I can't believe we are coming to the end of another year!!! I feel like I just picked my word for 2011.. which was focus. And I think I made sure that was what I did too.

Thankful 4 Family Time

I am sooo thankful for family time. We are a pretty close family, and really do everything together, we support each other at sporting events, out to eat, play, and just run errands together. That's kinda just the way we are. So I LOVED the theme topic from My Scraps & More for 11/21 to create a page about being thankful for Family Time. These photos were taken in October from a recent family outing to Disneyland. We had a BLAST!!! Even though I was pretty pregnant at the time, you still gotta love and enjoy going to Disneyland.
I used Crate's Portrait line... I still LOVE it, and it goes with everything!! it really does.
I also used the Sketches In Thyme #61 double pager sketch!!! yeah a two pager, I haven't done one in awhile, but it was perfect for these photos.

Back 2 School

I always love to get lots of pictures of the kids on their first day back to school. They are starting to say I may take too many, but that's ok. I love how excited their faces are and also their excitement for a new outfit, backpack, and shoes. The 11/25 My Scraps & More thankful challenge was Thankful for Education and to use the word "school" on your layout, and use some school photos.
I also used the Creative Scrappers #184 sketch for this page
and played along with ScrapFITS's WWU #19- use stitching on your page. I'm always use for an excuse to break out my sewing machine.

I added lotst of mist, distressing, and wooden buttons:
I added zig zag stitching around the circle, and then straight line stitching around the grid/ruler paper....

Thankful For Summer

Thankful for Summer!!!! Yes, I am one of those people that just LOVES summer and can never get enough of it.. Give me long days, a feeling of carefree-ness and freedom, warm sun on my face, and playing outside. I am totally there... Lisa's challenge for My Scraps & More was to create a page about your favorite season, and mine... summer.. I used Echo Park's Summer Days line for this page, full of color and happiness!! I also used the 11.17 sketchy thursday sketch to play along with.
I added lots of pop dots to the clouds to make them jump off the page.

Finally got back on the scrappin bandwagon after a week's break, it just got too crazy with the holidays and not enough hours in the day for extra scrappin. So I'm trying to get done what I can before my lil bean is born. I used the 11/29 sketch from My Scraps & More that was posted today for the Thankful challenge- thankful for sketches. I finally got some newer pics printed and had to dive right into them. I used some Crate Neighborhood for this page.

Nothing says I'm thinking of you like a homemade card in the mail. I don't think I've sent a store bought card or purchased one in years!!!! I just LOVE to receive homemade cards also, because I know all the energy that goes into creating one. It's just sealed with that extra bit of love.

I think by making the matching envelope, it kinda goes that extra mile in creating a full set and says " I am realllly thinking about you".

Here's my take on it, with some Cosmo Cricket:

Read My Story Bookmark- GDT at Pixie Dust Paperie

My daughter has been asking me to make her a bookmark for her reading books, since she lost her's the other day, and this was the perfect kit to create one for her. I used the Echo Park Wild Rose solid paper for the base of my card and made it 3X7, a perfect size for her reading books. I then added the GCD Vintage Jane paper.

Next I cut out some of the Teresa Collins Posh flowers and sewed onto them to give them an extra pop.
I used several Echo Park element stickers to find off embellishing the bookmark. The EP Victoria Gardens stickers has the perfect sentiment for the bookmark "The Story", so I just used the alphas to add "Read" and finish it off.
I can't tell you how excited she was to receive it and has already put it to use!!!

Altered Mini Box- GDT for Pixie Dust Paperie

I've had this cute lil notebook foreeeeever in my stash and have been meaning to alter it for the longest time. Sydney seems to keep lil notes all over her desk, and I'm tired of cleaning them up all the time, so I decided to alter this for her, and have a cute place for her to keep her notes.

I used mainly Echo Park's Victoria Garden's line for this creation.
Adding a pretty Maya Road flower, some Echo Park elements stickers, and some of the gorgeous trim from the kit.
I also punched some scallops in the patterned paper to girl it up a bit:
Fussy cut a flower to really add some girlie touches to it, and the lovely ribbon:

Faith Layout- GDT Pixie Dust Paperie

This kit is perfect for some super girlie pages and projects.. I saw those big roses from the Teresa Collins Posh line and instantly thought about cutting them out and popping them onto a project...

To add some texture on the flowers, I added some sewing machine stitching. I cut out all the flowers from the Teresa Collins "Posh" paper.
To make the page super girlie, I punched a scallop border, distressed the pink Echo Park print paper, added some pop dots on the flowers, and then some machine stitching on the page too:
I just LOVE the quote from the Echo Park Sticker Elements: "Today I wish you a day of ordinary miracles"

Thankful for Family.

If there is anything that I am thankful for.... it's my family. I don't know what I'd do without them, I would be sooo lost. They make my heart beat, they make my soul move, and they make me smile and happy. Sure, everything isn't perfect all the time, but that would be crazy and impossible. I LOVE that we are a close family, we really do everything together all the time. I feel like a piece of me is missing, if one of us aren't there.
I used the theme Thankful for Family for the My Scraps & More thankful challenges. I used also the My Scraps & More sketch # 14 for this page. I used some older Crate Portrait Collection for this page. I still can NOT get enough of how gorgeous the line is...

Thankful For Silliness.

If it's one thing our family does pretty well, it's being silly.. we LOVE to laugh at our house, have a good time, and not take things too seriously. We enjoy having fun at our house. And the kids LOVE to make silly faces in front of the camera too. They LIVE for those silly pictures.
I used the Thankful for Silliness theme from My Scraps & More Thankful challenges.
I used the sketch from Sketches in Thyme # 60 that was posted today, it was perfect for the photos.
I also played along with Scrap Your Crap's # 59 Mist challenge. I used THREE different mists on my page: Coffee, Aqua, and Green.
I just love to see the kids being so raw when they are totally laughing up a storm.

Washi Tape Card

Paige posted a super fun card challenge at the Create blog: use Washi tape on a card. I have some, but I know I sooo want to get some more, I LOVE how fun the tape is and added to any project. I created this card and used some older Crate for it. This is what I came up with. I thought I would make it kinda a thankful theme too, esp since Thanksgiving is right around the corner!!!
Also the challenge at The Paper Variety is to: use the word "thanks" or "thankful" on your paper project.

Ok, I know I keep using the October Afternoon Farmhouse... but I LOVE it.. really. Here is another page with it. The theme for My Scraps & Me was Friends, and to use the quote: "Friends are God's way of taking care of us."
The photo is of the kids on the beach, just hanging out talking to each other. It's not a rare site, they do get along, reallly well. Yes, they do fight, but they are the best lil buddies and enjoy spending time together. I cherish it while it's here.
I also used the 11.10 Sketchy Thursday sketch for this page.

Thankful 2 Be Me.

I am thankful 2 be me. I know at times in my life, I have thought maybe I'd like to be this person, maybe I'd like the life and things they have, but I have found that I am VERY thankful to be, to have my life, and have the blessings in my life that I do. I am truly blessed- a wonderful husband, a great marriage, two kids and one on the way that I just love to pieces, a testimony, having our needs met, being crafty, and sooo much more, that is just a couple of things that pop in my head.
I made this page for the My Scraps & More thankful month, a challenge a day about being thankful.
I used the Oct Scrapbook Circle kit, and used the challenge #19 sketch for this page, and flipped it on the side.
I added some fun misting, bling, and lots of journaling, even a bit of sewing

Thankful for Sports.

We are a pretty sporty family. I grew up playing sports, I STILL love to play sports, and we've made sure to have our kids be involved in sports, and they are each building a love for the sports that they love. I am grateful for sports, whether we play them as a family, on our own, or as a team. We can each learn alot from playing sports and appreciating exercise.
This page is of Sydney from last winter's basketball season, she really came alive and enjoyed the game and made several baskets each game.. Yup, I'm a proud momma...
For Lisa's thankful challenge at My Scraps & More was to create a page being thankful for sports, and adding a banner.. I always love a good banner too.

Well I LOVE my Ipods!!!!! Yes I have two. I am sooo excited to share this next project with you that I created from the November Pink Cottage kit at Pixie Dust Paperie.. I wasn't kidding when I said there was a TON of variety in this kit!!! There are a few fun holiday papers in there too, which were perfect for some snow photos, esp this one of Ryder, my cute lil nephew.
I had fun added some fancy cut work to the Prima papers, cutting out some snowflakes and icicles.
I added some layered scallops for some texture and some sewing across the page too:

Let's Get Together Card- GDT Pixie Dust Paperie

Here is project #3 with the Pink Rose Cottage kit from Pixie Dust Paperie for their November kit!!! I just fell in LOVE with these Maya Road flowers!!! They are gorgeous and huge, I LOVE it!!!
For this card, I used the Maya Road flower packaging for the center portion of my card (the white grid with black scallops). I first mounted my card with the Echo Park Wild Rose solid paper. Next, I cut down the Maya Road packaging and added it to the card center. Next, I added the flower, some of the Teresa Collins flower cut from the Posh paper and embellished it.
I added some texture on the card with layers of punched scalloped Echo Park paper strips to add some dimension the card. And then placed on the Echo Park Elements sentiment sticker.

Miss U Card

This week Paige's challenge at the Create blog was: Cards with Wood... I used some wooden flowers from Studio Calico that I had in my stash from awhile back. I then added some twine in the button center to match with the Sassafras papers.. I was sooo excited to find something made from wood, I almost thought I didn't have anything. But as I looked more into my stash, I found these, and realized I had quite a bit of wooden items.. fun!!!
Tomorrow is a day off, and a holiday for the kids!! YEAH!! for a long weekend...

Baptism Day

I just love this photo from Sydney's baptism of the two of us. She looked gorgeous that day and I was sooo excited and happy for her and her choice to be baptized. Sydney has such a good heart and is such a happy girl, I just love her to pieces. I used the ScrapRoom July kit for this page and used the November sketch to play along with. I used mostly the Pink Paislee Hometown Summer line, but mellowed it out a bit to make the papers less themey for the page.

Of course I added the banner Beautiful Day, since that's exactly what it was!!!

Thankful for My Kids

Thankful for My Kids... one thing I knew I always wanted to be... was a mom!!! I always wanted to have kids, and it was something I have always looked forward to. I have two, Austin and Sydney, and one more on the way. I couldn't feel luckier, I am sooo blessed to be a mom!!! Yes, they can drive me crazy, and yes some days I feel like pulling my hair out. But it's totally worth it. Esp when I hear the words "you are the best mommy in the world." I know I may not hear that phrase in their teenage years, but I am happy to hear it now. I used October Afternoon's Farmhouse line, which I just LOVE right now!!! the colors are stunning, and totally my style, and the patterns are gorgeous!!! I scored the whole line over at Moxie Fab, and I am VERY grateful. I used the My Scraps & More blog sketch #12 for this page, and flipped the sketch on it's side. It also works for the daily Thankful challenge for 11/8- thankful for my kids. I cut out the banner from the patterned paper and added some fun buttons: LOVE how fun and mixed the alphas are from this line too: Don't forget to hug your kids, even when they make ya wanna scream!!! I know I'll hug mine extra tight today... just because.

Miss U Card- GDT for Pixie Dust Paperie

Here is project #2 that I created with the Pink Rose Cottage kit from Pixie Dust Paperie. There is such a fun mix of pretty and vintage in the kit, it made creating with the kit super easy.

I cut out one of the flowers from the Echo Park Victoria Garden's paper and crumpled it up, used some pop dots and added some extra color to the card here:
And the letters are actually from a Prima piece of paper, just ready to cut out, use and be made into mini alphas!!!! perfect!!!

Thankful for our Pet- Lily

For the Day 2 theme at My Scraps & More, the theme was thankful for pets.. We've had Lily almost a year, the Monday before Thanksgiving will be a year we had her. The kids are still in LOVE with her, and she is such a lil sweetheart, you can resist those big brown eyes either!! I used the 11.3 Sketchy Thursday sketch for this page, and also Crate's Farmhouse line for it. I LOVE that line and the colors!!! totally gorgeous!!

Thankful for Laughter and Pixie Dust Paperie Kit Reveal

I am thankful for laughter. We are a family that LOVES to laugh, we like to be silly, and we like to be funny. So when I saw the challenge at My Scraps & More to use thankful for laughter as a page theme, it was easy enough. I was trying to take a picture with Austin, but he couldn't stop from laughing and so I LOVE how in the moment this picture captures his laugh.
I used the November Crafty Sketch for my page.
And also from The Paper Variety their challenge is all about creating a humorous layout or project, something that brings a chuckle. This photo just makes me smile!!!
I used the quote from Charlie Chaplin: " A day without laughter, is a day wasted" soooo true!!!

Pool Fun.

I am such a fan of summer, and so are my kids. We really LOVE the water, whether the beach, the pool, the sprinklers or the creek. This month at My Scraps & More, there is a daily thankful theme to scrap along with, and this one was super easy for me to jump in on and play along. The photos are from Labor Day swimming at their grandparents pool. I used the 11.3 Elle's Studio sketch and created this page with a date spot and some journaling spot from Elle's Studio. I also used A Walk in the Park line by Echo Park for this page.
I added some greens and yellow on the page to make it kinda pop off the blues:
Since today is raining too, I am also thankful for the rain.

GDT at Pixie Dust Paperie!!!!

I'm soooo excited and happy to share that this month over at Pixie Dust Paperie kits, I am the GDT!!!! They have adorable kits that are super fun to play with and are really packed with lots of paper and products!!! These kits go a LONG ways, and that is one thing I always look for in a kit. This month's kit is called Pink Rose Cottage and you can find it HERE.
This is my first reveal with the kit. It's a LO of Sydney, some of the pictures that we took last December for my sister's etsy dress shop. Of course, Sydney loves to model them and I love taking the pictures. Most of the page uses Echo Park's Victoria Gardens line. It's very girlie and fun. There's more details on my page HERE.

Creating your own embellishment:
I punched circles out of the pink Echo Park's "Rose" paper. Next I crumpled the circles up, inked them up, and then added the Prima cuttons for centers... BAM... you've just created your own embellishments.

A Few Layouts

Earlier this week I got done quite a few layouts. They are all from the sketches that were posted at the My Scraps & More sketch a thon that was going on. I actually got them all done for the month!!!! wooo hooo!!! I think that is a first for me, and it felt good to get back into the game and get lots of scrappin done for sure.
I think my favorite page is this top one of the kids taken at the Hermosa Beach lifeguard station. We made a lil trip down to Cali in December in 09, and we LOVED the warm weather here, so of course we hit the beach.

My 2 Babes:
This is an older photo of the kids, I found a bunch of older ones when we moved, so I've been scrappin them. I used the Oct kit from Scrapbook Circle.
In N Out: we were soooo excited when it finally made it's way to Utah, we went opening day at both the Orem and American Fork locations. The challenge was to use all strips to make the base of your layout.. Talk about the perfect way to use up some scraps.
Pretty Girl: Some older pics of Sydney from her dance recital and I went super girlie on the page.. This kit was a prize at The Paper Variety from We Scraps... such a fun kit!!!

ScrapFIT workout# 55 Tis the Season

Well Christmas is on it's way, and probably going to come sooner, than later... So this challenge is the perfect push to get up and started on those holiday projects!!!

Happy Haunts

woooo hoooo!!!! It's Halloween!!!!! Finally, one of my favorite days, and holidays of the year!!! and I couldn't resist but scrap something Halloween today too... These are some photos from a couple years ago of the kids, one at the pumpkin patch and another on Halloween night, about to head out to some trick or treating. I used Echo Park's Apothecary Emporium line for this page.
I used the sketch from Lisa today at My Scraps and More, for the last sketch from the Sketch A Thon... I'm soooo sad it's over, I've gotten sooo much done this month!!!

Also at the Paper Variety the challenge: Create a cute or spooky Halloween project. I added some stitching on the ribbon and added a few pleats along it's way. Plus I had some Maya Road black and white bling jems that were perfect for the page:

I am always up for a challenge, esp when it includes sewing. I have been lovin my sewing machine for quite some time now, esp when I get to add some sewing onto my cards or pages. I just love how much it can really add to a project. So I jumped all over the Challenge #18 at Scrapbook Circle and used my Sept kit for this page. It's an older photo of the kids taken almost 2 years ago, but I LOVE the photo. I also used the 10/20 sketch from My Scraps & More with the same twist- add some stitching on your page.

I added lots of stitching on the page, I even added two types of stitching also:
the word strips say: Brother & Sister Loves to Smile

Day 244: Super Sketchy Sunday

Hello bloggers, I am back!!!! I had a bit of a scare, kinda a BIG scare yesterday.. I can to post on my blog and it was gone!!! ACK!!!! So after some freaking out, much reading and my hubby's savvy tech skills we had to do a few things and get it back. So I'm happy to be back!!!

Today at 365 cards challenge blog, Pam has a wonderful new sketch to play along with for this week. It's Day 244 and check it out!!

Here is my take on the sketch, I flipped it. I used Jillibean Soup's Apple Cheddar Soup, a perfect for line for fall projects.

I couldn't resist scrappin a couple more of the ultrasound pics that I found. Here is baby #3, one is of the face and the other of it's cute lil legs, feet and you can even see it's knees... It's soooo cute. I played along with the 10/26 sketch at My Scraps & More sketch a thon, and the twist was to add some bling.. that was easy enough. I used the Cosmo Cricket Odds and Ends line again, it just works perfectly.

No. 3 On The Way

It's starting to get closer.... my due date that is, and it's starting to go by pretty quickly, before you know it, we'll have No 3 here pretty soon, and I soooo can't wait!!! Here is a layout I did, using Lisa's sketch for the 10/24 My Scraps & More Sketch A Thon. I used a photo from the ultrasound that Jeremy took off the screen.I can't tell you how excited we are for this lil sweet bundle of joy to come into our family. I used mainly Cosmo Cricket's Odds and Ends line.It's perfect for an unknown sex of the baby...

Just Hangin'

Over at Sketches in Thyme, they have a DT call going on right now.. I used their sketch to create this layout.. I mainly used some Echo Park For the Record papers but also a bit from the Happy Days line too. I created a couple of embellie clusters and just looked through my drawer and pulled out a mix of fun embellies...
The photo was of the kids taken almost 2 years ago on our of our Cali trips.. You'd never guess it was December from the photo, since we were in shorts and tshirts, but when your coming from 20 degree weather, anything over 50 feels pretty warm.
Got bling, stars, buttons, butterflies, and some other misc embellies:

Park City & Heber Trains

I was going through my desk and found a bunch of older photos, well a couple years old, and thought it would be fun to get down and scrap some of them. These were some of my favorites of the kids on a UEA fall break getaway our family did up in Park City, and then of course hit the Heber Valley trains on the way home, which made for some fun photos. I used Jillibean Soup's Apple Chedder line, which was great for these fall photos... I also put it towards the Sketches in Thyme October Open Challenge to use any sketch...

Yeah for Sundays!!!!! It's been a looooong weekend, so I'm totally ready for a Sunday, some family time, and some relaxing. Pam posted a cool new sketch at 365 cards challenge blog for Day 237 to play along with.
Here is my take on the sketch. I dug into some older Sassafras, which I have been quite enjoying lately... a Hambly overlay and some buttons.

Happy Everything- EAD Color Challenge

Last year Sydney was Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz... She LOVED her costume that her auntie Kristine made for her. I played along with the Paper Variety recipe challenge:

Here it is... I also used the 10/19 sketch My Scraps and More and the twist on it, is to add an embellie cluster.. something I LOVE doing, and kinda haven't done in awhile.

Two Cards- Cheveron and Fall

This week for the CREATE blog card challenge, Paige challenged us to made a card with cheveron strips!!! i LOVE this pattern and have been wanting to try it out. So, it was the perfect excuse to try something new. This is the card I came up with, I used some older Sassafras and created this card... It was a bit challenging, but I LOVE how it turned out...
Then at Practical Scrappers they are highlighting some Fall inspirations, and I have a Fall card that is posted over there.. Here is my card for the challenge:

Taking Silly Pics

One day me and the kids decided to take some silly pictures together.. Austin held the camera and this is what he took... He was pretty proud of himself too... I used the Echo Park Happy Days line, which is a happy fun line, with lots of bold fun colors.. This worked perfectly with the ScrapFIT Weekend Warm Up challenge #16 ....This one is pretty easy...it's all about BRIGHT COLORS! Create a layout, card or other project featuring bright & bold colors.
I also used the My Scraps and More blog Thursday sketch #10 for the page.
I added some fun word strips what worked great with this page:

Back 2 School

well the kids have been in school just over a month now, but seems like they just started the new school year... They were super excited on the first day, to start a new school and new grades. They were also both super excited about their new outfits to wear also. I used the 10.13 Sketchy Thursday sketch for this page. I really LOVED how much room you had to play around with it and make your own.. so this is what I came up with. I used Fancy Pants for the page...

GDT: City Crafter Challenge blog # 79

I am soooo excited and honored to be the GDT for the City Crafter Challenge blog today... They have a VERY fun challenge to play along to, and fall is forsure one of my FAVE times of the year, so this was an easy one for me...
Check out challenge #79: create a card, tag or any project that relates to the harvest of the land ... you can include images of fruit, vegetables, farm vehicles ... even a scarecrow ..
I created this layout, with a photo from last October with Sydney at the pumpkin patch.. the Jillibean Apple Cheddar line is perfect for some harvest fun!!!!

I added a few apples from the line on my page... and pumpkins in the photo.
The journaling reads "picking pumpkins is piles of fun at the pumpkin patch in october is 1 of our traditions"

Here's my take on the sketch. I flipped it on the side and created this card... I'm in a festive Halloween mood, can ya tell?
I used some super old Scenic Route orange patterned paper for the background, but some newer fun Halloween embellies:

ScrapFIT Workout #54- It All Adds Up

Check out the super fun new challenge posted at the ScrapFIT blog today for Workout #54.. It All Adds Up....
The challenge: Numbers, numbers and more numbers! Lets see a layout or card with lot and lot of numbers. Can you use them in your title? Can you add them as an embellishment? Can you stamp them? YES you can do all of those and more! Show us how your numbers add up!

Not only did I use numbers patterned paper, but I used a few fun equations with numbers... I guess all those years of living with my dad the math teacher, has taught me the importance of numbers...

My Scraps & More Sketch-A-Thon Layouts

well I have been getting busy with the Sketch A Thon going on over at My Scraps & More forum going on right now. It's been super nice to get back into some scrappin and actually having fun doing it. I love this page of Austin, esp the photos of him at the beach. It's totally his element. He loves being there, he could play for hours and stay all day.
This page has a photo of the kids from a couple years back, after Austin's baptism. The kids look a bit younger but pretty much the same, but in two years from now, they might start having their own look.

Cute Spooks. This page was quite the challenge, add purple to your page. I'm totally NOT a purple person at all.. luckily I had some Halloween goods to create this page, cuz I don't have much more of it in my stash. The photos are from last Halloween and I'm super excited to take new pics this year.

Puppy Love

Sydney is such a puppy lover. She just adores Lily, and loves to cuddle her, lay with her, and snuggle with her. Luckily Lily is the kind of dog that let's her get away with it. I've even come out to find Lily "dressed up" a couple of times, by Sydney. Sydney was in the backyard with Lily one day and I just snapped this photo, I don't even think she knew either. I used the 10/11 sketch from Lisa at My Scraps & More from their October Sketch-A-Thon, and the twist was the use a grid on your page...
Also the challenge at Scrap the Girls: Create a layout with the word ‘love’ in the title and to use ‘distressing’ on your layout.

I added some stitching on the Thickers and inked the wooden hearts:

I LOVE Halloween Card & a TOOT

I am such a Halloween girl... I just LOVE the holiday. It's sooo fun, dressing up, decorating, the spookiness of it all. So when Paige had the challenge to create a Halloween card at the CREATE blog, I was all over it.. Here is my card for the challenge. I used the Oct Scrapbook Circle kit for the card..

I made some of my spiders into black widows...... creepy... just add bling:

Aquarium

We are a total beach family, we love going, aquariums, anything beach related and we are totally there. These photos were taken a year ago, on our Cali trip, and we went to the Cabrillo Aquarium, a fave of my husband's. I played along with the 10/10 sketch from the My Scraps & More Sketch a Thon and added in the twist of negative space. I also used it towards The Paper Variety's seascapes challenge- Ocean, Sea or Nautical themed... easy enough for us. I used Cosmo Cricket's Salt Air line, which was perfect!!!!

Here is where I played with the negative space. I punched circles down the farthest right side of the patterned paper and then added some chipboard embellies in the center:

Yup, that's my crazy family.. my hubby with the shark and the kids as lil grunions.... ( I think they make really cute fish.. wink wink)

Celebrate 37

This past summer I celebrated a bigger number... 37... ACK!!! I'm starting to feel older, but at the same time, I still am feeling pretty good and am trying to keep up and keep in shape.. I made this page with the July kit from the ScrapRoom, the Fancy Pants line, and had it put towards their celebrate challenge on the blog. I also used the My Scraps & More 10/12 sketch, with the twist of adding at least 3 circles, I added one large one and 3 smaller punched circles, that I crumpled up...
I just LOVE the black and white print paper from this line!!! and of course, the birdies...
