Day of the Dead

Hello and good morning....

I'm up over on the Moxxie blog today.
It's no secret of all, I am a Halloween LOVER, I love being scared, creepiness and The Walking Dead is one of my FAVE shows.

This past Halloween, my daughter decided to dress up as a Day of the Dead girl. I was totally excited and started pinning makeup ideas for her. She actually dressed in everything from her closet and then we just purchased the make up.

I used the latest Zombie Attack collection, which I am SUPER excited about.

Did you know that Moxxie has a whole line of alphas coming out?? I used them to make my title, and also stitched around the circle several times to give a bit of contrast.

I used several of the sticker elements throughout the layout, I am a really big fan of the arrows stickers. I used one and then cut down a second one to stagger the sizing.

Next I added some light gray misting in the background and then some red mist splats, to give a more "halloween" feel to the page. I also pleated and sewed over it.

So dig out those Halloween photos and great ready to scrap!!!!

Thanks sooo much for stopping by and have a great day!!!!

2 Cuties- GDT at Stick It Down

Hello and good evening...

I'm super excited to be a GDT on the Stick It Down challenge site this week.
Here is what I came up with for the sketch:

I used Echo Parks papers and am LOVE with this collection. I just love the color combo and cute owls...

I added a fun camera with enamel dots on it:

Here's the sketch:

Hope you get a chance to check it out and play along..

Thanks sooo much for stopping by and have a great day!!!!

Go Big.

Hello and good morning...

I'm up over on the My Scraps & More blog today.

Honestly I am in LOVE with the Fancy Pants Everyday Circus line. I know when I picked it out, that I didn't have ANY circus photos. We went years ago, but I don't even remember if I even took many. But I could see how versatile this collection was, and that it could really work with any themed photo.

I knew when I pulled the papers out, I went right for my son's baseball photos and wanted to dig in and scrap them with the papers.

I used several of the Label Stickers through the page along, with enamel dots.

I cut up the Big Top paper, and then added stitching around the edges and adding a few ink splats.

I also border punched the brick paper to add a bit of "grunge" to make the layout more "boy"

So if you can't see past this Everyday Circus collection being just for Circus photos, keep looking... It's there, you just have to let your mind wander a bit....

Thanks sooo much for stopping by and have a great day!!!

Up on the Cards in Envy blog is the latest card challenge to play along with.
The Challenge: Best of Friends..

I made this card for my daughter to give to her bestie for her birthday. I was there when she opened it and she loved it too. That always makes me feel good too, even from an eleven year old.

I used some older Simple Stories, added a pleat and some sewing over it...
And fussy cut out a butterfly for an embellie:

Inspiration Elevator Blog Hop

Our main purpose here at IE is to challenge ourselves, each other and YOU to take the creative process to the next level;  to inspire growth and change in our scrapbooking beyond the mundane.
You can see all of Inspiration Elevator's previous challenges at our blog and catch us on Facebook .
We are thrilled to welcome back as a guest designer with our team, the uber creative and wonderfully artsy Misty Russell!
This month's challenge is issued by the amazing Jayne Morgan. Jayne mixes classic styling with fun and funky embellishments and artistic mixed media touches. Here is her challenge for us, in her own words:
Time(d) to Change
It's no secret amongst my crafty friends that my biggest hang up when scrapbooking is procrastination. Being a perfectionist can certainly benefit the end result, but quite often, we worry so much about the outcome that we forget to enjoy the process! On a couple of occasions when I've had to complete a tight deadline for DT calls or assignments, I've been forced to throw caution aside and complete a page within an hour. This for me in itself is a miracle, but the most surprising part was that I not only thoroughly enjoyed the carefree process, but the end results have been some of my most favourite pages. Here's lies the inspiration for this months challenge - I'd like you to gather your photo's, papers and a collection of supplies you think you may need, hibernate to your creative space and take 30 minutes to create whatever you like.........not a minute more! Contrary to what you may think, the pressure is off here. Chances are the final result will not be your best ever project as the time constraint is a little extreme (!), but it's a well known saying that creativity flourishes when we are willing to take risks! Enjoy the process.

Honestly I was sooo excited to do this challenge. Ive done pages in 30 minutes before with friends at crops and LOVE the challenge and stress that comes with finishing in a short time.
 Here is my final layout:

And here is my process. First I picked out a photo, a kit to work with, and I also used a sketch since I was on a time limit, I need to just get in there and create. I used the August Memory Nest sketch #22. I also used my phones stopwatch and had a Diet Pepsi on hand.. of course.

This is my process at 10 minutes, I had cut out all the papers, distressed them, and adhered them down, and even added a bit of stitching, my sewing machine sits on the desk next to me.

At the 20 minute mark, I had the pictures on it with some embellies. I even added some misting splats, after my photos were added, something I don't do much because I've run into some problems in the past.. lol..

I felt it needed a few more touches and ended my page at the 23.32 mark. And I am pretty happy with my final result. So it can be done, a page under 30 minutes....

Here's a complete list of this month's participating designers!  We encourage you to check out each designer's creation this month, then come on back and give the challenge a try yourself!
Meantime, if you've wanted to participate as a guest designer with Inspiration Elevator, just contact team lead, Ann at ann jobes at bell dot net
Now it's your turn to get creating and finish within 30 minutes and share your blog link at the IE blog. We would love to see what you were inspired to make!

Thanks sooo much for stopping by and have a great day!!!!!
