It's All About the Red, White and Blue

Hello and good evening...

Today has been the perfect Sunday day... pretty lazy, I spent it with family, I got a nap in and a walk in... then had a BBQ dinner and homemade chocolate chip cookies.. doesn't get better than that!!

Up on the Just Imagine Crafts blog, it's all about red, white, and blue in honor of the holiday coming up. I went with an all american theme, baseball... esp since Austin is in baseball season right now, and those colors are great to create a sports page with.

I mixed and matches several lines, papers, manufacturers, everything.. LOL...
I went with a lighter, softer shade of blue for the page, and accented it in navy
I used the Kreaxions Punch #907  on the patterned paper and then layered on top of it.
Stars and banners seem to make the perfect accents on sports pages..
How will you be spending your holiday next weekend???

Have a great one...

Day 139: Super Sketchy Sunday

Hello and good morning...

Another quick week has gone by and ready to hopefully take it easy a bit today. Sunday means a new week and a new sketch from 365 Cards Challenge Blog.

Here is my card for this week:
I decided I needed some extra guy bday cards on hand, I seem to be short on them lately.
Here is the sketch for Day 139 :
I also played along with the Inspired By #75, and was inspired by the distressing aspect of the photo:

Don't forget to stop by the other DT's blog and see their super sketchy sunday work:

Simpsons Fun

Hello and good morning...

Today I am sharing a layout about a fun tradition we've been doing with the kids. Every time Jeremy has a meeting at Fox Studios (only a couple times a year), he always picks up two of the mystery Simpsons boxes and brings them home for the kids. You never know which characters you are going to get. The kids love to figure out which box to pick. So each time I always take a picture with the characters they end up with.

Here is a photo from the last time they got em:
I used Fancy Pants Trendsetter collection for this page, I am VERY much lovin it still.
Here's my "boy":
and here's my "girl":
I used the Practical Scrappers May layout sketch from Liz, which was amazing this month:
you can see how the other designers used the sketch...

Hope ya have a great one!!!

Play.

Hello and good evening..

Just wanted to share a page that I finished up using the latest Let's Get Sketchy wk#2 sketch.
I used the kit I got from Tracy in the My Scrap & More kit swap. It had a mix of some Crate and Cosmo Cricket papers in it.
I sooo LOVE the Jillibean twill flowers:
I also fussy cut the butterflies out from the crate papers and added a bit of stitching:

Here, There, Everywhere

Hello and good morning...

Happy Hump Day!!! we're half way to the weekend. Tonight we'll be at the ball park for Austin's last official season game before playoffs start. They already secured first place for their team, so I'm super excited for tonight's game.

Here is a layout that I did from a picture that I took of him this season. He's been the main full time catcher of the team, and we've been super proud of him and all his hard work.
I played along with a new challenge blog called Scrap & Music. There's a sketch and a song to use. I used the Here, There, Everywhere in my title work:
I also played around with a mask and some gesso:
I used an older Authentique line that I just love....
Have a good one...
