2nd Bday

Hello and good morning..

Just sharing a layout I made the other day of my little one's 2nd birthday back in December. I used quite a mix of papers on this page- MME, Fancy Pants, and Jillibean Soup.

I fussy cut some triangles and added a single line of stitching across the bottom:

and then some stitching across the pennants.. along with some ink splats and enamel dots:

I played along with the Studio challenge Numbers challenge, and used a number in my title.
and a sketch from Lisa at the My Scraps & more sketchathon..

Thanks sooo much for stopping by and have a great day!!!!

Hello and good morning...

Happy Survivor Day!!!!!

I'm sharing a page that I made the other day, with a photo of my hubby while we were in Hawaii... I was finished and satisfied with the page, and then... I decided to add some mist splats.... and bam.... one landed right in the middle of the photo... ugghhh!!! that is why I always mist first... but I have learned my lesson before and I think I hopefully have learned my lesson again..

Here's the page:

yup, thats "let's be explorers" die cut was added after the fact to cover up the mist splat.
I used my April Scrapbook Circle kit and played along with the recipe challenge # 73.

and then added these cute wood triangles through the arrows:

I also used a sketch from the My Scraps & More sketchathon going on for Day 21.

Thanks sooo much for stopping by and have a great day!!!!

My Sweet Girls and You are My World

Hello and good morning...

I'm up over on the My Scraps & More blog today....

ok, I have to admit it.. I think I have a new FAVE line... The Fancy Pants As You Wish line had totally caught my heart and I have fallen head over heals with it. The rich colors are so gorgeous and I just love all the fun patterns within the collection.. They really outdid themselves this time.

For my first page, You Are My World, I used an instagram photo of my little one, just hanging out on the couch at home:

I saw the globe and title on the Paper my World paper and just wanted to use that for my title. I added some enamel hearts to make the hearts stand out:

And then played around with the chevrons on the Paper This & That paper:

For my second layout, I'm sharing a page about my two girls together, even though there is an eight and a half year difference, there is such a strong bond with these two:

From the Paper Quilt Work paper, I punched the circles and then crumpled them up and added some enamel dots to the centers:

If you've been on the fence about ordering this line, don't wait... it's amazing!!!!

Thanks sooo much for stopping by today and have a good one!!!!

April Showers

Hello and good morning..

Hope you all had a wonderful Easter day weekend. We are pretty lucky, the kids still have one more day off, so we are going to enjoy it!!!

Up on the Cards in Envy blog is a new cool card challenge to play along with.
The Cards in Envy challenge this time is for A2 CARDS that feature "April Showers"--rain, rain drops, rain clouds, umbrellas etc.

Here's what I came up with:

I used some raindrops paper on the card:

  1. No square cards.  All cards entered must be A2 size (4.25" x 5.5")
  2. No lumpy, bumpy cards.  Elements on your card need to be relatively flat (no thicker than 1/4")
  3. Limit entries to 3 per challenge.
  4. No Back Linking.  Cards must be posted to your blog or online album during the challenge dates.  If it was posted online BEFORE the beginning of our challenge, it cannot be linked.
  5. Entry must be for the current theme: April Showers - A2 Cards

Hope you play along...
thanks sooo much for stopping by and have a great day!!!!!

You're so Sweet Card tutorial

Hello and good morning..

I'm sharing with you a tutorial from a card that I recently made using the April All Year Cheer Card kit up over on the Apron Strings blog...

Here is the finished card:

Let's get started:
Cut your cardstock base to create a 4x7 card ( so cut it to 8x7)
Cut your base patterned paper to 3.75x6.75

Next you'll want to cut out three papers that will turn into your "envelopes"
Cut 3-1.75x1.25 squares and then 3 strips of 1.75x.75

next take your smaller strips and then cut one side into a triangular shape, those will be the "envelope" tops:

Then adhere down the triangles onto the squares and you will have created your "envelopes"

You'll want to start laying out your card and getting things ready to glue down. Add a sheet of notebook/ ledger paper and tear at the bottom:

So it should look like this:

You will then add your sentiment and a bit of twine on it for a bit of texture:

And for a final touch, add a strip of stitching down the bottom for a bit of pop:

And you are done!!!

Thanks sooo much for stopping by and have a great day....

Gone Riding

Hello and good morning..

Happy Friday!!! and Easter weekend...

Up on the My Scraps & More sketch blog is a new sketch to work with...
The photo is a page of my two older kids and some of their cousins. They look the Razors out for a day of riding. My hubby took the pic.. me, my sister and younger kids went to the zoo.

I used some Elle's Studios for this page.
I also used a stencil with some gesso.. but had forgotten to clean it last time and I had used some blue misting with it earlier. So when I painted the gesso, the blue mist came off with the gesso and created this cool color...

and added a mixed alphas title... wood and enamel accents:

Here is the sketch:
There's a cool prize up for grabs for playing along.... so make sure to link up!!!

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend!!!!
