Hello and good morning...
Hope you are all having a wonderful day.. and thanks for hopping along on the Holiday Blog Hop.
You should have arrived here from the lovely and talented DONNA ..... and I am your next stop. (If you didn't start at the beginning, then head over to GLORIA'S blog. We are sharing holiday projects with you, and I decided to do a holiday decor piece for Christmas. Each year I like to add a crafty piece to our holiday decor around the house, so I decided to make a banner to hang in our living room. I used some older papers in my Christmas stash (think super old like Hambly, and KI... old school right??) Since our decor has alot of snowflakes, blues, whites and silvers, I decided to stick with that palette.
Here is my banner:
I used some much hoarded Hambly woodgrain paper, and some KI fussy cut snowflakes..
The blue squares on the banner are actual mini gift bags that I had in my craft drawer.
I also just went through my stash and added random embellies from my stash that coordinated with the colors, also from my stash are the Maya Road kraft snowflakes:
So for thanks for stopping by my blog, I am also offered up a RAK..... some goodies from my stash. If you are interested in the RAK... PLEASE answer this question: what is your favorite Holiday Cookie??? I have sooo many, but I just LOVE sugar cookies and egg nog cookies.
Now you are off to the lovely MARISA to she what she has crafted up......
Thanks again for stopping by and have a great day...

ReplyDeleteGorgeous!!! I love the use of those hoarded gift bags you used on your banner! Fabulous!!!
ReplyDeleteI love sugar cookies all decorated with colored sugar sprinkles! LOL Thanks for your share!
ReplyDeleteYour banner is so very festive and beautiful! What a fun way to add decor to one's home. Great way of recycling too. I am not too much into sweets but I do like a buttery type of cookie without much frosting on it. Very similar to a shortbread type.
ReplyDeleteI really like your holiday banner!!!
ReplyDeleteI like a bite of a really good decorated sugar cookie and gingerbread cookie. :)
I love shortbread cookies. I don't care for store bought cookies and I hate to bake so I look forward to my sister in law who makes cookies every Christmas. Great project love it.
ReplyDeleteCute banner, love the colors. Cookies are hard to choose, since I gave up grains, dairy and sugar a couple years ago, but I used to love pecan dainties and ginger molasses cookies. :)
ReplyDeleteDid you post the winner somewhere? I can't find it. Thanks!
Deleteyup, I just posted!! thanks for checking back. Sorry it took so long, this time of year just doesn't slow down.. :)

ReplyDeleteI love Russian Teacakes. We make them every year.
Love your sweet banner and all the gorgeous snowflakes!! WAs and still am a fan of KI and Hambly!! Great idea to make holiday banners with our old stash too!!!
ReplyDeleteLove your banner! Great use of the mini gift bags! It's hard to pick a favorite cookie, but just thinking right now I'd say pumpkin cookies. (Ask me tomorrow and it might be something different.)
ReplyDeleteOh, I love banners to decorate for the holidays and this one is so pretty. Love that you used old gift bags to add the blue color. My favorite cookies are snickerdoodles and raspberry thumbprint. I make them every Christmas and give them to neighbors and friends.
ReplyDeleteLove your pretty banner and what a great way to use stuff from your stash. That Hambly wood grained paper gives it a fun whimsical look. As for favorite cookies, I have a lot of faves but especially love Russian tea-cakes and these candied fruit cookies that I only make at Christmas
ReplyDeleteI love your banner! My favorite Christmas cookie is chocolate candy cane cookies!
ReplyDeleteCharming banner - and I love the unique holiday color combination!
ReplyDeleteFavorite holiday cookie? Well, I eat my fair share of all of them - but my absolute favorite is an Italian cookie made for Christmas by a friend's elderly mother - Pizzelles. They are wafer thin anisette cookies that are made in pizzelle iron - similar to a waffle iron. The cookies are shaped and 'embossed' like snowflakes. I have discovered that two of them 'stuffed' with vanilla ice cream (like a sandwich) and topped with hot fudge is a true Christmas miracle!
Thanks for sharing your banner!
What a fun banner! Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!!
ReplyDeleteThere are so many occasions we can use banners. Your blog shows how easy it can be to create a fun, festive banner. Thank you for sharing! My favorite are Russian Tea Cakes. The powdered sugar makes them literally melt in your mouth.
ReplyDeleteI like the materials you used to created this pretty banner. My favorite cookie is my mom's butterscotch cut out cookies.
