A Wedding Present
I made this altered home decor hanging for my little sister who just got married yesterday... I had originally made THIS altered hanging, and once she saw it, she has been asking to make one ever since. Originally we were both going to sit down and make one together, but when your planning a wedding, time is VERY limited... LOL!!!
So for one of her presents I made this hanging for them to start off in their home. All I know, is I remember having close to nothing to hang on our walls when we were first married, so it's always nice to have something that says HOME...
It measure about 9.5x7.5, which isn't a huge size, but enough to work with.
She LOVED the little people, and for the longest time I couldn't find them, but last week I won a prize on my bloggie buddy Amy T's blog and I was sooo excited!!! PERFECT!!!
Then I used this premade banner from MME, but it had said "cute" and that didn't fit. So I punched circles out of paper and then added some OA alpha stickers to the banner.. LOVE is much better.
Also added this fun bingo card too:
And here it is framed. I really like this one, and found it on clearance at Target... score!!!
So I hope that she likes it. It's not an exact replica but I like each project to have it's own personalities.

Wedding Day Projects
Today is my lil sister's wedding day!!!!! I am sooo excited!!! she's the youngest in the family and is 15 years younger than me, and we have great relationship. For her wedding, she found LOTS of cute ideas on pinterest and I was excited to be able to help her create them.
First, this is a cute banner that will be hung behind them at the reception as they greet visitors:
Next we made this banner that they can hold, and take a photo with and then make into thank you cards for sending out to guests:
These are for the guest to fill up with at the candy station. We hand stamped all the tags and then Katelin has spray painted the clothes pins already:
We also printed these out, and Katelin had the frames already. The love bird tree is for decoration and then instead of a guest sign in book, they are doing a time capsule guest book that they will open in one year form their wedding date:
These are the quotes that guests will fill out for the time capsule guestbook:
I also made this fun banner for an antiqued suitcase so that guests can put cards or small gifts inside:
Another fun banner:
These are for the candy jars, and they will be tied with ribbon around each jar for the candy they hold:
And these are ALL the fabrics that Katelin cut out to make the banner:
The banner is going to go ALL around the reception area, and it looks soooo cute!!! I did the sewing:
For the bridal shower, my mom and I threw her, I made this fun banner that she got to sit under to open presents, which makes for perfect photo opps:
I was in charge of the dessert, so I made two batches of cupcakes and decorated them with her colors:
(and yes there were GOOD!!!!)
And lastly, a party favor for each guest to go home with after the shower:
It reads "we are SODA excited for our big day. We hope that you will be there to help us celebrate Friday Sept 28th at 7pm. m&k"
I am soooo excited to finally see how it's all going to come together!!!! We have been crafty BUSY lately!!!You know I will be posted more pictures!!!!

Sketches In Thyme #3 - 2 pgr
Whenever it's sports time, I take a TON of photos!!! I mean like a TON!!! and I don't even bring my camera to every game.. why??? because sometimes I LOVE to just sit and watch the game, get taken away by the game and watch my kids. But when I bring my camera, click click click.
This week's sketch from Sketches in Thyme was PERFECT for a bunch of sports photos:
Here is my take on the sketch, I used some of Sydney's softball pics and some of the Fancy Pants Little Sport line.. man, I am getting a TON of layouts out of that collection pack:
Here's the left side:
And the right side:
some of the fun goodies:
And still lovin the chevrons, the red in the line was perfect to match her uniform in the pics. Also added some stitching to the pennant:
This was Sydney's first REAL season of softball. I mean she played tball once back when she was 5, but this was much more serious. She improved and became one of the best hitters on the team. Her last game, she hit off the pitcher ALL 3 times up at bat.. a first on her team!!!

Using your Mists
Today up on the Practical Scrappers blog the subject of today is 10 Things to do with Alcohol Inks of Mists.
I have become a HUGE HUGE fan of mists and love to add them to almost any project. I love the way it adds color on a page or card, and just gives some fun eye candy.
Here is a layout that I did, and I could NOT find the right color ribbon trim to match my layout colors. I had some white flower trim and I noticed that my mists were the perfect color of the paper colors. I used Echo Park's For the Record 2 Tailored line.
First I sprayed the white trim with a pinkish/coral to match the papers, then I sprayed a second mist of bubble gum pink to bring out the pink tones.
Even though the colors on the trim aren't perfectly even, I LOVE how it turned out and kinda has am ombre look to it!!!
Smoochie Face is what we call her sometimes.. She kinda makes her lips all smooched up and has the cutest little look!!!!
So break out those mists and inks and play around with them!!!! See what you can create!!!!

My Scraps Blog Post
If you are familiar with the My Scraps & More forum, you will
know that there are daily challenge posted, to get your mojo and
craftiness flowing..
For the 9/21 challenge of the day, it was Sketch time.
Here is the sketch that was posted to play along with for the day:
And here is my take on the sketch:
I used the Fancy Pants Little Sport collection found in the My Scraps Store HERE.
I fussy cut some of the stars from the All Star paper which are the perfect sports accent piece to add to any sports page, whether football, soccer or baseball. I couldn't resist adding the @ to my title in place of an A, just to make it a bit playful.
I also made sure to add journaling to the page:
So I hope you will hop on over to the My Scraps Forum and play along with the daily challenges. You have till the end of the month, and a winner will get a wonderful prize from Tammi just for playing along...
