Creative Blog Tour

Hello and good morning...

Happy Monday!! hope you had a great weekend..

I am super honored to be apart of the Creative Blog Tour, I was invited by the lovely and talented Leslie, who I've gotten to know from scrappy blogging. It's so cool to be able to meet and get to know talented, crafty people from all over the world through scrapbooking and blogging.

1. What am I working on?
As of this week, I've started working on my August DT assignments. I usually try and have them done by the end of the month before they are due. I am also working on my project life 2012 album this year too. Today I actually worked on a fun free page to play along with some challenge blogs ( one of my favorite things is a good challenge, I'm a sucker for them)

I scrapped this photo of my lil one and used some Echo Park papers.
I used the Memory Nest July 1 sketch
and played along with 1 2 3 Get Scrappy's July challenge using green, blue and pink.
Im also linking up with the anything goes challenge from Curtain Call from the photo inspo

2. How does my work differ from others of its genre?
I would possibly describe my style as "messy clean"... kinda an oxymoron. I like a slighty messy page- distressing, misting, gesso, but clean lines at the same time. I usually scrap with bright fun colors too. I usually have mist, enamels and stitching on my pages.

3. Why do I write/create what I do?

I first got into scrapbooking back in high school when I made one for a youth project. I loved to take pics and needed to put them somewhere to see. I later got into scrapbooking more seriously when my husband and I had taken a big trip to Australia and New Zealand and I had a TON of pictures. Then I was pregnant and wanted to scrap my kids, which is my main focus. I LOVE that my kids can pull out pics of them at any stage and look through their albums and our family albums.

4. How does your writing/creating process work?
I usually either scrap with the photos that are on my desk that I want to scrap with. Or I pick my papers that I am working with and then pick out the photos. Once my papers are all laid out, I look at my embellies and then add away, misting, and usually add some jouranling to the page. I don't usually write a ton unless the photo needs to share the story also.

Here are the creative blogs/blogger I have tagged.  They will be sharing more about themselves next Monday - July 28st on their blogs.  Make sure to stop by.

Ange Weisbeck
I met Ange several years ago through online scrappy forums. We've worked together on some DT's and actually got to meet a few times at the Scrapbook Expo in Utah over the last couple of years. She is the sweetest.

Hi, I'm Ange (Anj). I've been scrapping for... ever. lol I've been interested in memory keeping for a long time and then got big into scrapping when my friend started selling Stampin' Up! Now she's totally out of all of it and I'm still going strong. I've been married to the best guy for 16yrs and we have 4 awesome kids together. I am a work from home mom. In my book, there's nothing better than getting paid to do what you love and still be there for your kids. They are a busy lot and keep me running. Besides scrapping, I love playing softball and volleyball and taking photos.

Melissa Vining
I've gotten to know Melissa from working together on the Let's Get Sketchy DT and she has the most adorable kids and is such a talented scrapper.

Hi, I'm Melissa and I'm from Queenstown, New Zealand.  I'm married and have a 7 year old son,  a 5 year old daughter and a 3 month old baby girl.  I work for myself as a town planning consultant, and my husband and I lead the children's ministry in our church.  I started scrapbooking after my son was born, but in 2012 I discovered the world of online scrapping and beautiful paper, and since then my whole crafting world has changed!   I'm a traditional scrapbooker, and my style is contemporary and always changing.  I love the photos to be the star of my layouts, but I also want my journaling to tell the story behind them.
Make sure to check out these VERY talented ladies and see what kind of crafty fun they are up to.
thanks sooo much for stopping by and have a great day!!!!
