How to Make Your Own Chevrons with Misting Tutorial

I know I never do tutorials, but I was thinking the other day I should. When I made my misting layout for the ScrapFIT challenge, I wanted to do a chevron print misting, but I didn't have one of the chevron templates so I thought I would make my own.

So here's what I did first to make my own chevron template..
First I took a piece of actual chevron paper, this one is from the Echo Park Boy's Life collection and then cut out the chevron pattern that I wanted to use for the misting itself:
Next, I layed out my chevron pattern and taped them down so that they wouldn't move while I was misting away:
Once I had the template in place, I misted with my light pink. I really LOVE the Mister Huey mists, only because they dry super fast and my page isn't totally warped at the end:
Then I took my magenta mist and sprayed onto of the first color to give it more of a kick. I also misted my flowers to make sure they matched the page.
After I had my misting done, I removed my template and was left with my chevron pattern:
Then I started adding my papers, embellies and all the fun details:
So the final result of the page looked like this:
wooo hooo... quick and easy, do it yourself chevron template... I would LOVE to see one if you try it, so make sure you link it up in the comments and I would LOVE to see your take and check it out!!!

Happy Tuesday!!!!

  2. This looks amazing Wendi, I have only just started using my mist that i have had sitting there for months but I hate how the paper buckles. Might have to change to Mister Huey.

Chorley is such a cutie in that photo.
